W Trek Itinerary: 7 Days of Adventure in the 8th Wonder of the World
A Demanding Journey at the End of the World
Voted as the 8th Wonder of the World, Torres del Paine National Park offers one of the most spectacular routes on the planet. The W Trek is a physically demanding journey covering over 70 km (43.5 miles), designed for those who wish to immerse themselves in the deep Patagonian wilderness and traverse landscapes that seem to belong to another planet.
Day 2: The Ascent to the Base Torres Lookout
The big challenge arrives early. The route will lead you up a steep incline through forests and glacial moraines to stand face-to-face with the imposing Base of the Torres del Paine. It is an intense physical effort that is instantly rewarded with the view of the three monumental granite towers rising above the turquoise lagoon at their feet.
Day 4: The Heart of the Massif, the French Valley
Walking through beautiful Lenga and Ñirre forests, we enter the French Valley. Here, after leaving the bulk of the backpack weight at camp, we will ascend light to the British Lookout (Mirador Británico). You will be surrounded by a 360-degree amphitheater of mountains, dominated by the hanging glaciers of Paine Grande and the mythical "Horns" (Cuernos del Paine).
Days 5 and 6: The Majestic Grey Glacier
The final stretch of the circuit brings us before the ancient icebergs of Lake Grey. To experience the ice up close, you will have the chance to go kayaking among enormous floating blocks or undertake a technical trek on the Grey Glacier itself. Finally, we will cross Lake Pehoé by catamaran to crown the expedition.
