Legal
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our site or contact us about a trip, what we use it for, who we share it with, and how you can ask us to correct or delete it. It is written to be understood, not to cover ourselves: if anything is unclear, write to us and we will explain it.
It is governed by Argentine Law No. 25.326 on the Protection of Personal Data and its implementing decree 1558/2001. It complements our Terms and Conditions, which already contain a section on data protection; if the two texts differ on any privacy matter, this page prevails.
The data controller is MONS AM S.A.S., C.U.I.T. No. 30-71717045-4, License 18.647, an operator authorised by the Argentine National Ministry of Tourism, with operational base in the Province of Córdoba, Argentina.
For any matter concerning your personal data you can write to contacto.mons@gmail.com or message us on WhatsApp at +54 9 3512 11-3842.
We only ask for what we need in order to reply to you and to get you up a mountain safely. There are no user accounts: we never ask you to create a password.
The contact forms on the site — on the contact page, on each activity page and on individual trip pages — ask for:
If you write from our schools, gyms, companies or custom expeditions pages, we also ask for the name of the institution, company or gym, your role, the number of people in the group, its level (school year or general fitness level of the group) and the dates or destination you have in mind. These are details about the group and about you as the contact person: we do not ask for individual data about each participant.
To process a cancellation we need your name and email. You may optionally add a phone number, national ID or tax ID, the activity booked, the purchase date and the payment reference number, which help us locate your booking faster. It is the only form on the site where we ask for an identity document, and it is optional. That form is available in Spanish at Botón de Arrepentimiento.
We ask for your email address only. Nothing else: no name, no phone number, no country. We also record which page you subscribed from and which activity or article you were reading, so we do not send you things unrelated to what you were looking at.
Like any website, when you visit we automatically record your IP address, the browser and operating system you use, the date and time, the pages you visit, how long you spend on them and which site you came from. We also store in your browser, and only while the tab is open, the campaign parameters from the URL you arrived with (the `utm_` values and Meta's click identifier), so we know which ad or post brought you here.
We use this information in aggregate, to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We do not cross-reference it with your name or email.
We do not sell or rent your data to anyone. We do not use it to make automated decisions about you, and we do not build advertising profiles tied to your name.
This deserves its own section because it is sensitive information and because it is specific to what we do.
We do not ask for any health data on this website. No form on this site asks about fitness, allergies, medication, medical insurance or emergency contacts.
We do ask later, off the site. Once you have paid the deposit, we email you a Medical Form that you must complete and return. We use it for one purpose only: so that you can do the activity without putting your health at risk, and so the team knows how to act if something happens on the mountain, where there is no hospital around the corner.
With that information:
Completing the Medical Form means you accept that we process that information for these purposes. If you would rather not provide it, you can tell us, but we will most likely be unable to accept you on the trip: without that information we cannot guarantee your safety.
Nothing is paid on this site and we have no payment gateway integrated into it. You will never have to enter a card number on a page of ours.
When you confirm a booking we send you, by WhatsApp or email, a payment link from Getnet (Banco Santander's platform) or Go Cuotas, or our bank account details for a transfer. Your card details are processed by those companies under their own policies: we do not see them, receive them or store them. From a payment we keep only the receipt and the amount, which are the accounting records the law requires us to hold.
We will never ask you by email, phone or WhatsApp for your full card number, its security code or a banking password. If you receive a message claiming to be from MONS that asks for them, it is not us: let us know.
Our mailing list is managed with Mailchimp. When you submit your email you are subscribed immediately, without an intermediate confirmation email, and we give you access to the training plan PDF.
You can unsubscribe whenever you want, using the cancellation link at the foot of every email we send. You can also ask us to remove you by writing to contacto.mons@gmail.com and we will do it. No explanation needed.
Subscribing to the newsletter is separate from enquiring about a trip: if you write to us about an expedition, we do not add you to the list because of that.
We use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work and to measure how it is used. Here is exactly what is in place, because you should know:
Today these tools activate when you enter the site, without asking your permission first. We would rather tell you than have you find out: you can block them by configuring your browser to reject third-party cookies, by using private browsing or a blocking extension, or through the opt-out pages for Google Analytics and Meta's ad settings. If you block measurement cookies the site still works: you lose nothing.
We share data only with providers we need in order to operate, and only what each one needs. None of them is allowed to use it for their own purposes.
The testimonials we publish on the site with a name and photo are uploaded by hand, and only when the person has agreed. If you appear in one and want it taken down, write to us and we will remove it.
Several of the providers above have servers outside the country: Resend, Google, Mailchimp, Meta and Vercel operate mainly from the United States, and PostHog from the European Union. This means part of your data is stored and processed abroad.
We choose providers with contractual confidentiality and security commitments. By using the site and sending us an enquiry you consent to that transfer, under the terms of Article 12 of Law 25.326.
The site is intended for persons of legal age. We neither ask for nor want data about minors through these forms, and there is no field in which to enter it.
For school trips we deal with the institution: the person contacting us is an adult, and pupils' data — including their health information — is handled with the school, off this site, and always with the authorisation of parents or guardians. We use that data solely for the safety of the trip and delete it once the trip ends.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe information about a minor reached us without your authorisation, write to contacto.mons@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Once those periods expire we delete the data or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.
It is yours, not ours. At any time you can:
Just write to contacto.mons@gmail.com from the address you contacted us with, or ask on WhatsApp. We reply within the periods set by law: 10 calendar days for an access request and 5 business days for a rectification or deletion. We do not charge for this.
The data subject has the right to exercise the right of access to their data free of charge at intervals of not less than six months, unless a legitimate interest is demonstrated, in accordance with Article 14, paragraph 3 of Law No. 25.326.
The Agency for Access to Public Information, in its capacity as supervisory authority for Law No. 25.326, is empowered to hear complaints and claims filed by persons whose rights have been affected by non-compliance with data protection regulations.
The site runs entirely over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access keys for our providers exist only on the server side and are never exposed in the browser. We apply submission limits on forms to stop automated abuse, and access to the inbox where enquiries arrive is restricted to the team members who need to answer them.
That said, and with due honesty: no system connected to the internet is invulnerable. We work so that nothing happens; we cannot promise you it is impossible. If we detected an incident affecting your data, we would tell you.
From here you will find links to sites we do not run: our Google profile, social networks, YouTube, payment platforms, public bodies. Each has its own privacy policy and we are not responsible for what they do with your information. Linking to them does not mean we endorse their practices.
If we change something, we update the date in the header and the new version applies from its publication here. When a change is substantive — for example, if we started using your data for something not currently contemplated — we will tell you by email if you are subscribed. It is worth checking back now and then.
Any question, request or complaint about your personal data: contacto.mons@gmail.com or WhatsApp +54 9 3512 11-3842. We answer ourselves, not an automated form.
If you believe we did not handle your request properly, you may file a complaint with the Agency for Access to Public Information.
