UPCOMING DEPARTURES
THE EXPERIENCE
In the heart of the Peruvian Andes, an ancient route awaits, leading us through the perfect contrast between high mountains and jungle. The Salkantay Trek is the most spectacular and challenging alternative to reach the Lost City of the Incas.
Over 8 days, we’ll explore rugged valleys, walk through cloud forests, and sleep under the stars in exclusive accommodations (domes and sky camps). We take care of the logistics, transfers, and your safety, together with our certified local team — your only task is to walk, connect with ancient history, and let yourself be surprised at every step.
This is a challenging expedition, designed for people with an active lifestyle who are looking for a real multi-day adventure at altitude. We move together as a group, but it’s important to understand that this is not comparable to a city or park walk. To help you prepare, here’s a breakdown of the daily effort: - Day 3: 10 km (5–6 hours) - Day 4: 23.5 km (10–12 hours) - Day 5: 18 km (5–6 hours) - Day 6: 25 km (8–9 hours) - Day 7: 3 km (2–3 hours) You don’t need to be an elite athlete, but you do need good endurance and the willingness to challenge yourself each day. The key advantage: gear transport (up to 7 kg) is included. You’ll experience each stage carrying only a light daypack. We stay in exclusive mountain camps and urban hotels. This setup brings a higher level of comfort to the rugged Andes, ensuring proper rest after each day: - Nights in panoramic domes under the stars - Comfortable beds in the middle of nature - Hotel stays with full services in Cusco and Aguas Calientes Some landscapes can only be reached on foot, and some experiences can only be found along this ancestral route.
We meet at Ezeiza International Airport to take the flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the city.
A day in Cusco to explore and visit the city. We’ll be at 3.400 m, so it’s important to take this time to acclimatize.
Distance: 10 km | Duration: 5–6 hours We start the day early with a private transfer to Mollepata for breakfast. From there, we continue to Challacancha, where we begin a 3-hour hike to the Sky Camp in Soraypampa. After lunch, we’ll hike up to Humantay Lake (about 3 hours round trip) and then return to camp for dinner and rest.
Distance: 23.5 km | Duration: 10–12 hours Today is the most challenging day, but the reward is worth it, with incredible views along the way. After breakfast, we’ll hike for about three hours to Abra Salkantay, where we’ll take some time to enjoy the panorama and take photos. From there, we descend into the cloud forest, reaching our lunch spot before continuing toward the edge of the jungle, surrounded by lush and exotic scenery. Finally, we arrive at the exclusive Mountain Sky View Campsite in Collpapampa, where we’ll spend the night.
Distance: 17 km · Duration: 5–6 hours Today the adventure continues with a hike through the Santa Teresa Valley, where we’ll enjoy a lush landscape of rivers, waterfalls, and plantations of coffee, bananas, and avocados. We’ll arrive at the Jungle Domes around lunchtime, where we’ll settle in and spend the afternoon resting, enjoying the calm of the camp and the surrounding nature.
Distance: 25 km | Duration: 8–9 hours Today we follow part of the original Inca Trail. We hike to the Inca archaeological site of Llaqtapata, where we’ll learn about its history and enjoy our first view of Machu Picchu. We then descend for lunch before heading to Hidroeléctrica. From there, we continue by train to Aguas Calientes. In the evening, we’ll have dinner at a local restaurant and spend the night in a hotel, ready for the big day ahead.
Distance: 3 km | Duration: 2–3 hours We wake up early to enter the citadel and avoid the crowds. We’ll have a guided visit to explore its terraces and temples. In the afternoon, we take the train to Ollantaytambo and return to our hotel in Cusco.
We wake up in Cusco and begin our journey home. Today, we take our flight back to Argentina.
IN ACTION
Of course! You can join any of our scheduled dates. We keep our groups small to ensure a more personal experience, with a strong focus on safety and group connection.
Our groups are usually made up of solo travelers, friends, and couples. If you’re looking for something more private or can’t find a date that works for you, get in touch and we can design a custom experience so your group can explore the mountains at your own pace.
Yes — food won’t be something you need to worry about. Preparing inclusive meals is an important part of what we do. We offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, even in the middle of the mountains.
We just ask that you let us know in advance when booking, so we can plan everything carefully and make sure your meals are properly organized.

The Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu is a demanding experience. You’ll hike for 5 days at high altitude, reaching over 4,500 meters above sea level.
Each day, you’ll gain between 300 and 700 meters in elevation. Starting from Cusco at 3,400 meters, you’ll gradually ascend to the Salkantay Pass, which rises above 4,000 meters.
It’s important to make sure your body and mind are prepared to handle both the physical effort and the altitude.
On average, we walk around six hours per day. The itinerary includes areas affected by landslides, steep trails, and uneven terrain, but you’ll always be accompanied by our guides, who will support you whenever needed.
The experience is not cancelled due to bad weather. Keep in mind that weather in Cusco is highly unpredictable, and it’s impossible to know exactly what conditions you’ll encounter in the mountains.
In general, the first night at altitude can be quite cold, with temperatures dropping to around -5°C. Toward the end of the trek, we enter the Peruvian jungle, where temperatures can reach around 25°C.
You may experience extreme cold, rain, and in some cases even snow at higher elevations. It’s important to be prepared for changing conditions. Even if you’re trekking in summer, we strongly recommend bringing extra layers and proper weather protection.
No, the experience is not cancelled due to rain in the forecast. It’s important to keep in mind that the most accurate weather forecasts are usually within 24 to 48 hours in advance.
Yes, you’ll have the opportunity to charge your devices at the camps.
Charging is available for a few hours each day, and in some camps it’s not allowed to leave phones or cameras plugged in overnight.
Wi-Fi is available in some camps.
