THE EXPERIENCE
Welcome to one of the most surreal landscapes in Córdoba. Forget the typical green hills — Los Gigantes is a 600-million-year-old granite chaos, a maze of rock that feels like another planet. On this 2-day expedition, you won’t just hike — you’ll truly explore. We’ll move through hidden caves, cross underground valleys, and climb all the way to the summit of Cerro Mogote (2,374 m). We take care of the logistics, meals, and your safety, so you can fully experience the mountains and disconnect from the city with peace of mind.
During the itinerary, we’ll cover: Day 1: 12 km with 700 m of elevation gain Day 2: 15 km with 800 m of elevation gain It’s important to keep in mind that this is not a city walk: the elevation, the rocky terrain, and the natural environment make it more physically demanding. We stay in a mountain hut. Even though we’re in a remote and rugged setting, it offers some comforts that your body will appreciate after a long day: - A warm space, beds, and homemade food - Bathrooms with hot water - Basic Wi-Fi connection, enough to let your family know you arrived safely Far from conventional tourism, this experience gives you access to a truly unique natural environment — because some landscapes can only be reached on foot, and some experiences can only be found in the maze of Los Gigantes.
Distance: 12 km · Elevation gain: + 700 mts
Distance: 12 km · Elevation: +700 m After meeting up, we’ll get everything ready at the hut and start walking before midday. We’ll begin the ascent of Cerro de la Cruz (2,185 m) and visit Cueva de la Salamanca, Cueva de los Helechos, and Cueva de los Pajaritos, natural formations that make this corner of the Córdoba mountains so unique. We’ll reach the hut in the afternoon, where a hot snack and dinner will be waiting for us.
Distance: 15 km · Elevation gain: + 800 mts
Distance: 15 km · Elevation: +800 m We start early in the morning with breakfast, and then begin the day’s trek. We’ll take the trail known as “La Cuesta del Perro” to climb up to the highest point of Los Gigantes, Cerro Mogotes (2,357 m). From there, we return to the hut via the well-known Sendero Norte, following a different route along new slopes and completing a full loop of the area. Once back at the hut, we’ll pack our gear and bring our services to an end.

The trek in Los Gigantes is often chosen as a first experience in the mountains. With a good general level of health and the right attitude, most people can complete the ascent.
On average, we walk around six hours per day. The itinerary includes areas affected by landslides, steep trails, and uneven terrain, but you’ll always be accompanied by our guides, who will support you whenever needed.
To move comfortably in the mountains, packing smart is key. Less unnecessary weight means a better experience.
The basics start with the 3-layer system:
- Base layer (breathable): helps keep sweat away from your body and avoid moisture
- Mid layer (insulation): a fleece or synthetic jacket to keep you warm
- Outer layer (waterproof/windproof): protection against rain and strong winds
You should also bring:
- Trekking shoes or boots (with good grip, and already worn to avoid blisters)
- Backpack (around 40–60 liters)
- Water bottles or hydration system (capacity for 2 liters)
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat
- Trekking poles are recommended

No, the experience is not cancelled due to rain in the forecast. We monitor weather conditions constantly and know that mountain forecasts can change, with the most reliable updates usually coming 24 to 48 hours in advance.
Our team is trained to manage safety and make decisions based on real conditions in the mountains.
You’ll be doing physical activity for 2 days, so staying hydrated is non-negotiable. We recommend drinking at least 2 liters per day to help your body adapt to the environment.
At the mountain hut, you’ll have access to Wi-Fi.
Once the trek begins, there’s no mobile signal. We recommend using "Airplane Mode" to disconnect, enjoy the surroundings, and save battery.
Yes, you’ll have the chance to charge your devices at the mountain hut.
Charging is available for a few hours each day, and in some cases, it’s not allowed to leave phones or cameras plugged in overnight.
One important tip: at night, keep your phone and power banks inside your sleeping bag, as the cold drains batteries very quickly.
Our focus isn’t on performance, but on creating a real mountain experience — a chance to disconnect from the city while still enjoying a high level of service in a remote setting.
